Ryan Reynolds’ Surprise for a 10-Year-Old Deadpool Fan Is Every Collector’s Dream

Fanatics Fest 2026 concluded just a few days ago, and collectors are probably still scrambling to keep track of their trades and newly announced cards. While most deals made at the venue were straight swaps, you can bet that there was a lot of money exchanging hands too. It was probably the one place where someone is likely to leave your wallet behind and steal stacks of cardboard. Along with the cards, there were also plenty of celebrity faces from the world of sports, WWE, and the movies. 

While sports cards are the meat of such trading card conventions, there are also plenty of superhero cards worth a lot of money. One of these superhero cards was a 2025 ultra-rare Topps Deadpool card from Deadpool & Wolverine, which any fan would die to get their hands on. However, it was safely delivered into the hands of a 10-year-old fan by Ryan Reynolds himself. Just imagine being gifted a rare trading card by the guy on the card, and that guy just happens to be Ryan Reynolds.

In the video, of what could be a Topps promotion, Reynolds was given one of Deadpool’s rarest cards, featuring his portrayal of the character in Deadpool & Wolverine. It was a 2025 Topps Chrome Certified Autograph Issue Wade Wilson Deadpool card. Reynold mentioned that he was going to give it away, and that’s exactly what he did. On stage at the event, he scoped out the young fan, handed him the card and took a selfie as well. Not many people can claim to have a card given to them, by the person on it themselves. 

As you’d expect, the kid was overjoyed, saying it was the best day of his life. He also added that he’s going to save it, cherish it, and give it to his children. It’s hard to put a price value on the card just yet, but you can expect it to go up after Reynolds personally handed it to the fan. 

Speaking of stars giving fans collectors’ items at Fanatics Fest, the exact opposite happened for Obsession star Inde Navarrette. A fan handed her a graded 2009 copy of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and got a wholesome reaction from the actor. It turns out, Navarrette used to stream Modern Warfare 2 along with her brother before landing her breakout role in Obsession, which is why she was overjoyed with the gift. 

Fanatics Fest is filled with such moments, where fans are often surprised by card manufacturers and celebrities with their favorite cards. While Ryan Reynolds’ gift probably got the most publicity, you can bet there were plenty of other wholesome moments like this.
