After 11 years of serialization, Yuki Tabata’s beloved action-fantasy manga, Black Clover, has finally reached its conclusion. The manga entered its Final Arc in 2022 before transitioning to Shueisha’s Jump GIGA magazine on a quarterly schedule due to the creator’s health issues. Since then, the series has released two to three chapters each quarter, instead of following a weekly schedule. While fans bid farewell to their favorite manga, the series shared new updates on the anime’s return. The anime originally debuted in 2017, releasing new weekly episodes till 2021. Due to the long-running format, it almost caught up with the manga, and even fillers weren’t able to help the series from continuing.
The anime finally announced its return in July last year, and a year later, fans finally got new information on the series’ return. The second season will drop in October this year as part of the Fall 2026 anime lineup. Additionally, the official website of the anime confirmed that director Ayataka Tanemura will continue as the director. The first season was directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara, and Taneumura stepped in from Episode 153 and was also in charge of the original film Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King. The director also hypes the anime’s return with a special message on the official website along with a new visual.
Black Clover‘s Anime Will Finally Continue Best Arc Ever

While the manga has already reached its conclusion, the anime has yet to adapt the final two arcs. The original anime concluded after covering the initial parts of the Spade Kingdom Raid Arc, but the main fights have yet to be featured. The story will continue as the Magic Knights from the Clover Kingdom and mages from the Heart Kingdom prepare for an all-out assault on the Spade Kingdom.
Their main purpose is to stop the Dark Triad’s plan to open the door to the Underworld and also save Yami Sukehiro and William Vangeance, who have been kidnapped to be used as sacrifices. The Magic Knights have taken a massive hit after the kidnapping of the two Squad Captains, especially the Golden Dawn, where half of the members have been completely wiped out. The Dark Triad is a title given to three siblings and the arc’s main villains, who serve as the hosts for high-ranking devils. They were already introduced in the first season while showing a glimpse of their horrifying powers.
The Spade Kingdom Arc is easily the best in the series as it focuses on high-stakes battles, character development, and some of the most exciting plot twists ever. The anime’s new season will also focus on the results of everyone’s diligent training, especially Asta and Yuno, who have improved by leaps and bounds. The anime is currently streaming on Crunchyroll, so don’t forget to catch up to it before the new season.
