Shueisha’s Jump Square is one of its most underrated magazines despite serializing some of the greatest series of all time. Although series such as Moriarty the Patriot and Blue Exorcist are fairly popular now, most of the credit goes to their anime adaptations. Each year, a limited number of Shonen Jump series release their anime adaptations, but most of them don’t gain enough attention from viewers. This also includes anime based on lesser-known manga series. The Bugle Call, written by Mozuku Sora and illustrated by Higoro Tomori, is one such series that isn’t well-known among the Western audience despite having a unique premise and exciting plot.

The manga began serialization in June 2022, and four years after its debut, it finally has a shot at popularity. An anime adaptation has been confirmed with a teaser trailer and a key visual. While The Bugle Call isn’t a mainstream hit, it’s a critically acclaimed action fantasy set in a historical world.

What Do You Need to Know About The Bugle Call?

The anime is scheduled for 2027, but hasn’t revealed an exact release date yet. We can expect an update in a few months with more details on the characters and the plot. Additionally, the studio behind the anime, CA Soa, was founded by CyberAgent and is led by veteran producer Masakazu Ogawa, formerly from Sunrise. The studio was established last year, and The Bugle Call will be its first independent project.

The anime series will be directed by Shinya Watada, best known for his work in the Gundam franchise, including Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury and Gundam Build Divers. Michihiro Tsuchiya, who contributed to Akane-banashi, provides the series composition while Michinori Shiba, known for SK8 the Infinity, draws the character designs. Additionally, the anime has yet to announce a streaming platform, and we can only expect one shortly before the premiere. The visuals are breathtaking and prove it does justice to the manga’s incredible art style.
