The Summer 2025 anime season is now coming to an end with its final few episodes, and that means it’s time to look ahead to what’s coming next in the Fall 2025 anime schedule. It’s been a very great year for anime so far as each of the seasons this year has offered plenty of major franchises that are definitely going to be fighting for the top spot on best of the year lists when it comes down to it. As we’re looking ahead to the new wave of anime for the Fall, it’s looking like this hot streak is going to continue.

The Fall 2025 anime schedule is packed with some juggernaut franchises returning for new episodes (one of which is actually preparing to end its run after a decade), and many new adaptations that are already making waves with manga and light novel fans. There seem to be a wide spread of new releases coming to platforms like Netflix, Crunchyroll, Hulu, and HIDIVE beginning this October, so here are ten of the major new Fall anime shows that you’re going to want to check out next.

10.) To Your Eternity Season 3

Release Date: October 4th (Crunchyroll)

From the same creator behind A Silent Voice, To Your Eternity is one of the most unique fantasy series out there. It’s not the most notable despite it being three seasons in, but there’s nothing else like it out there. Fushi continues to evolve and learn more about humanity through yet another era of civilization in the third season, and there’s going to be more intense moments than ever before. On top of just being an outright gorgeous series to see in motion through the first two seasons thus far, it’s likely that this third batch of episodes is going to hit those same high marks.

9.) My Gift Lvl 9999 Unlimited Gacha: Backstabbed in a Backwater Dungeon, I’m Out for Revenge!

Release Date: October 3rd (HIDIVE)

Much like every other season, there are going to be quite a few Isekai anime series to keep an eye out for. This is another branch off of the growing revenge fantasy flavored version of Isekai that’s gotten very popular in the last few years, but what helps My Gift Lv999 Unlimited Gacha stand out from the rest is that incredibly long name. Even outside of it, fans of the original work have been excited to see this one since it’s been announced as they have been looking forward to seeing many of its ultra-powerful characters in motion so there’s a hope that the anime can pay off all of these hopes when it makes its premiere.

8.) My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero’s

Release Date: October 6th (Crunchyroll)

Speaking of revenge flavored Isekai stories, My Status as an Assassin manages to find a different take for its own story. This is another story where an entire class is brought to another world, but this time the ignored protagonist ends up uncovering a dark secret about the kingdom that summoned them all in the first place. Teaming up with a very cute elf in the process, it looks to be a darker take on fantasy that could end up playing out well. It’s got some great designs when stacked against other revenge fantasies like this, and the main character using primarily assassin skills will make for some fun fights when it’s all sparking in full.

7.) Star Wars: Visions Season 3

Release Date: October 29th (Disney+)

Star Wars: Visions has been an incredible experiment to see play out with Disney+ thus far. The first two volumes of the short form series have not only hit it big with anime fans, but their expansions of the Star Wars world have been hits with those fans as well. It’s a very tough tightrope to walk, and the third season is already promising some big things. Not only will we get to see a follow up to some of the previous stories, but there are going to be new shorts from prominent anime studios like David Production, Kamikaze Douga, TRIGGER, Production I.G., ANIMA (in a co-production with Kamikaze Douga), Kinema citrus Co., Project Studio Q, Polygon Pictures, and WIT Studio. If you’re even a little bit of a Star Wars fan who also loves anime, you’ve got to check it out.

6.) Ranma 1/2 Season 2

Release Date: October 4th (Netflix)

Rumiko Takahashi’s classic manga series have been coming back to screens with full-on anime reboots, and each of them have been such a success thus far. That was especially true for Ranma 1/2‘s big comeback, which not only added a fresh new energy to the classic but really made it feel like it fit in with the modern anime era. Now the second season is set to take the ball and run with it from here on out with even more characters, more romantic chaos, and lots of more timeless shenanigans that are going to look absolutely fantastic in motion (if the first season was anything to go by).

5.) Digimon Beatbreak

Release Date: October 5th (Hulu)

Digimon is coming back for a brand new iteration after not only the end of Digimon Ghost Game, but after it celebrated its 25th anniversary. Digimon Beatbreak feels a lot like the start of an entirely new era of the franchise as not only do the central characters in the story have a much darker tinge bringing them into the fight, but its central Digimon partners are a lot more edgy in terms of their design. This does make it seem like it’s going to be a more intense version of Digimon than we’ve gotten to see in the last few years, and that’s something fans have wanted for a while. Make sure to keep an eye on it if you liked Digimon in the past.

4.) Sanda

Release Date: October 4th (Prime Video)

One of the most unique looking new anime coming this Fall, however, is going to fit right into the holiday season. From the same creator behind Beastars, and adapted by the studio behind DAN DA DAN and Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, this series follows a kid who gets the ability to turn into a Santa Claus that kicks ass. Set in a world where Christmas doesn’t really exist anymore, it’s down to this one kick to straight up knock the Christmas spirit into their foes. It looks to be a wild and fun time by just the central premise and promotional materials alone, so hopefully this one can meet those expectations as the weeks roll on.

3.) One-Punch Man Season 3

Release Date: October 12th in Japan (Release Date TBD Hulu)

Speaking of meeting expectations, there’s no other returning franchise with as much riding on it than One-Punch Man Season 3. After making its debut ten years ago with one of the highest regarded debut seasons of all time, the second season ended up releasing to a ton of fan backlash. Now the third season is on the way from the same staff behind the second season, and there has been very little shown in motion from the new season yet. But giving this team the benefit of the doubt in this regard, it’s likely that they are taking as much time as they can to deliver the best end result possible. Whether or not that ends up happening, One-Punch Man Season 3 is going to be one anime fans are definitely watching this Fall regardless.

2.) Spy x Family Season 3

Release Date: October 4th (Crunchyroll, Hulu)

Another third season fans are looking forward to (with much less pressure on it) is Spy x Family Season 3. Tatsuya Endo’s original manga has made one of the most successful anime debuts of the last few years, and has already released two seasons and a movie. The third season is set to continue the Forger family’s story, but promises that fans will get to see a new look into Loid’s mysterious past, a main story for Anya, and much more. The first two seasons are still held in high regard by fans as some top-tier stuff, so the third season is undoubtedly going to meet those high marks already set. It’s just going to be good fun to see in action.

1.) My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON

Release Date: October 4th (Crunchyroll Hulu)

Out of everything coming this Fall, however, there is nothing with a higher profile that My Hero Academia. The anime first kicked off nearly a decade ago, and eight seasons later the franchise is going to come to an end. Izuku Midoriya has gone through a lot in just the year that he’s been fighting as a hero, and now the fate of Japan is on his shoulders as he now faces off against Tomura Shigaraki and All For One for the last time. Deku’s been fighting all this time to get to this grand finale point, and it’s the same for the anime’s team as well.

The anime has always impressed fans with the way it has brought key scenes to life through certain moments in the various seasons thus far, but the final season is going to have some of the biggest moments yet. This team is likely going to go all out to make sure that the anime ends on a high note, and you’re going to want to be there watching along to see how it all reaches that final few moments.
