The Elder Scrolls 6 Report Gives Release Date Update (It’s Getting Closer)

Following the release of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered earlier this year, demand for a Skyrim successor, aka The Elder Scrolls 6, continues to surge. It has been seven years since Bethesda first announced the game. As much time has passed since the announcement as time has passed between the announcement and the release of Skyrim. It’s been 14 years, and counting, since Skyrim. And Bethesda remains dead silent on The Elder Scrolls 6. This has not changed. What we do have is a new report with some salient information, though.

The new report comes from eXtas1s, a well-known industry insider, especially when it comes to Xbox, who owns Bethesda. The insider did not divulge much about The Elder Scrolls 6 in a new YouTube upload, but he did touch on the subject. And according to the insider, Bethesda Game Studios and Xbox are preparing to release The Elder Scrolls 6 sometime in 2027. If true, this would mean that we are, at maximum, 27 months away from the long-awaited RPG, assuming it releases in December 2027. It would probably release during October or November, though, so the wait is likely even shorter than this.

Reveal Soon

If The Elder Scrolls 6 is going to release in 2027, then it is almost certainly going to be revealed next year, probably at Xbox’s summer press conference, which it does every June. And for what it is worth, there have been rumors that a new trailer has been ready for quite some time.

When The Elder Scrolls 6 is potentially revealed this coming summer, it looks like it will reveal that the game’s setting is Hammerfell, with a potential second setting of High Rock. The game’s setting hasn’t been confirmed yet, but it would no doubt be confirmed in the reveal trailer. And there’s lots more Bethesda will have to reveal because we know absolutely nothing about the RPG other than that it looks like a former BioWare writer recently joined the team to potentially work on it.

All of that said, remember to take everything here with a grain of salt. While eXtas1s has proven reliable at times, in the past, he does not have a bulletproof track record. Meanwhile, even if everything here is accurate, it is also subject to change.
