New PSN Free Download Is for Fans of 2015 PS4 Exclusive Game

A new PSN free download is for fans of a 2015 PS4 exclusive game. That said, this new offer is only available until October 27, and it’s not for 2015’s marquee PlayStation 4 exclusive, Bloodborne. No, PlayStation continues to pretend Bloodborne does not exist, just like fellow 2015 PS4 exclusive The Order: 1886. You can blame it for forgetting the latter, but it remains a puzzling mystery why PlayStation won’t do anything with Bloodborne.

The one 2015 PS4 exclusive Sony has not forgotten about is Until Dawn. In fact, Sony has recently invested considerable resources in the horror series. In 2024, it released a PS5 and PC remake of the game, which, unfortunately, wasn’t great and made some bizarre changes that fans did not like. And then this year, a film adaptation of the game was released, which also wasn’t good. That said, while Sony hasn’t done a great job in reviving the series, it at least attempted to, and the original game will always have its fans. If you are one of these fans, you will be happy to know Sony is giving out free, exclusive PSN avatars related to it.

How to Get the Freebies

Unfortunately, the avatars are themed to the movie, not the game; however, one of them is simply the series’ logo, which is ideal for those who aren’t as interested in the movie and its branding.

To get the avatars — which can be seen below — you will need to download the Sony Pictures Core app from the media home screen on the PS5 or from the PlayStation Store if you are on PS4. And then you need to sign up on the campaign website to receive a voucher with the avatars. This offer is valid until October 27; however, some users are reporting that the required form is unavailable. Sony hasn’t acknowledged this issue, but it presumably will fix it as the offer is still available for another month.

Those who complete this process will receive the avatars not right away, but in December. There is no exact date provided, but Sony does note it will be “late December,” and that there may be delays. If there are delays, this would presumably push the rollout into 2026, but this is not specified.

All of that said, and as always, feel free to leave a comment letting us know what you think, or join the discussion over on the ComicBook Forum.
