Some years, one game really takes home the lion’s share of prizes at The Game Awards. And in 2025, to almost no one’s surprise, that game was the turn-based RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. The game snagged plenty of awards this year, including the coveted Game of the Year award. But that’s not all. The team behind Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 didn’t just have a thank-you speech prepared. They had a whole free DLC ready to shadow drop.

During the acceptance speech for Game of the Year, Sandfall thanked players in the best way: by giving us even more of the game we love. On December 11th, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 shadow dropped a new free update that adds new content and features to the game.
