2024 PS5 Exclusives May Be About to Come to Xbox Series X

One of the best PS5 exclusive games, just released last year, may be about to come to Xbox Series X. The PlayStation 5 turns five years old soon. Yet, it feels like we are still waiting for it to hit its stride. During the PS4 generation, there was killer PlayStation exclusive after killer PlayStation exclusive. In fact, many of the best games of the PS4 generation were PS4-exclusive games. The same doesn’t feel true of the PS5. In fact, beyond God of War Ragnarok, Astro Bot, and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, there really haven’t been any absolute killer PS5 exclusives.

To this end, it is reasonable to argue that Silent Hill 2 Remake is one of the best PS5 exclusives, or at least one of the best PS5 console exclusives, as evidenced by the fact that it is in the top 10 highest-rated PS5 exclusives and our own, glowing review of the horror game. The only PS5 exclusive games with better Metacritic scores are the three above, Demon’s Souls Remake, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Not a single one of these games is on Xbox, though Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is coming to the console at an undisclosed date. It looks like Silent Hill 2 may come first, though.

Exclusivity Ending and More

The Silent Hill 2 PS5 exclusivity deal is set to expire on October 8, 2025. After this, Konami is free to release the game on other platforms, assuming the deal isn’t extended at the last second. Now, if you are going to release Silent Hill 2 — a survival-horror game — on Xbox Series X, doing so before or around Halloween would make a lot of sense. If you were a betting man, placing a bet on Silent Hill 2 coming to Xbox Series X sometime this month would be a reasonable bet. Nobody could argue with that.

Meanwhile, on the official website of the developer of the game, Bloober Team, there are not one, but two empty platform slots, suggesting the game is not only coming to Xbox Series X but possibly Nintendo Switch 2 as well.

Right now, we don’t have anything official, just speculation. Silent Hill 2 is almost certainly going to end up on Xbox Series X at some point because there is no reason for it not to. It’s a pretty simple port, unlike a Switch or Switch 2 version, which would be more involved. That said, this could happen this month, a year from now, or be even farther away. We don’t know, but after October 8, the port becomes possible. The good news is that even if Silent Hill 2 doesn’t come to Xbox Series X this month, Xbox fans will still have plenty of new games to play.

All of that said, and as always, feel free to leave a comment letting us know what you think, or join the conversation over on the ComicBook Forum.
